Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 20, 2026

Effective Date: May 20, 2026

Mobile Tech Media, LLC ("Mobile Tech Media," "we," "us," or "our") operates the RealAd AI mobile application (the "App") and the website realadai.com (the "Site"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the rights you have. By using the App or the Site you agree to this Privacy Policy.

1. Anonymous-by-Design

RealAd AI is designed to be used without an account. We do not require you to sign up, provide an email, set a password, or create a profile. We identify your installation using a randomly-generated device identifier created on your device the first time you open the App. This identifier is not your Apple ID, Google account, IDFA, advertising ID, phone number, or any other persistent identity. It exists only to keep your projects associated with your installation.

If you uninstall the App and reinstall it, a new identifier is created and your previous projects cannot be recovered.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information you provide

  • Product URLs and prompts you paste into the App for research and script generation.
  • Recorded videos and audio you create using the camera and microphone within the App. These remain on your device unless you choose to export or share them.
  • Scripts and project metadata (project titles, drafts, edit history) you create in the App.
  • Support communications when you email us or submit feedback.

2.2 Information collected automatically

  • Device identifier: the anonymous device identifier described above.
  • Device and app information: device model, operating system version, app version, language, time zone, and approximate region (derived from IP by our analytics provider).
  • Product analytics events: interactions with the App — screens viewed, features used, buttons tapped, paywall views, subscription state changes. We do not capture keystrokes or the content of your scripts or recordings.
  • Diagnostic data: crashes, performance metrics, and unhandled errors so we can fix bugs.
  • Subscription and purchase data: entitlement status and purchase events from the App Store / Play Store (via RevenueCat). We do not see or store your credit-card or payment-instrument details.

2.3 Information we do NOT collect

  • We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, or password (no accounts).
  • We do not collect Apple's Advertising Identifier (IDFA) or Google's Advertising ID.
  • We do not track you across other apps or websites.
  • We do not sell your personal information.
  • We do not use your recordings, scripts, or generated content to train AI models.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • To provide the App's core features — research, script generation, recording, editing, and export.
  • To run AI-powered compliance checks on scripts you generate.
  • To process subscriptions and grant access to paid features.
  • To diagnose crashes, fix bugs, and improve App performance.
  • To analyze aggregate usage patterns and prioritize new features.
  • To respond to your support requests and feedback.
  • To comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.

4. On-Device Processing

Several features run entirely on your device and do not transmit data to our servers or any third party:

  • Voice transcription: spoken audio captured for teleprompter and caption features is transcribed on-device using a local Whisper model. Audio is not uploaded to a third-party transcription service.
  • Video editing and rendering: trim, effects, captions, and final-render export are processed locally on your device. Your recorded videos are not uploaded to our servers unless you explicitly choose to share or export them through a third-party platform.

5. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate the App. Each has its own privacy policy.

  • OpenAI— generates scripts, compliance check results, and other AI-assisted text. We send product URLs you paste and prompts derived from your inputs. We do not send your device identifier or recorded media. Per OpenAI's API policy, OpenAI does not use API inputs to train its models.
  • Perplexity — performs product research from URLs you provide. We send product URLs and short search prompts.
  • PostHog — product analytics and error tracking. PostHog receives the anonymous device identifier, usage events (screen views, taps, feature usage), app version, OS version, and device model. PostHog does not receive your scripts, recordings, email, name, or any payment information.
  • RevenueCat (with Apple App Store and Google Play Store) — manages subscriptions and in-app purchases. Apple or Google handles your payment method; we never see your card details. RevenueCat receives the anonymous device identifier and subscription state.
  • Convex — backend state storage hosted on cloud infrastructure in the United States. Your scripts, project metadata, and subscription state are stored against your anonymous device identifier so the App can sync across device restarts. The App communicates directly with Convex from your device.
  • Cloud hosting (VPS): a small stateless API tier runs on a virtual private server and is used only for product research (fetching and parsing product URLs you provide). It does not store data and does not see your recordings, scripts, or analytics events.

6. Device Permissions

The App requests the following permissions, only when needed:

  • Camera — to record video for your UGC ads. Used only inside the recording flow.
  • Microphone — to capture voiceover for your videos and to transcribe speech on-device for the teleprompter and captions.
  • Photo Library — to save exported videos and import b-roll, when you choose to.
  • Notifications — optional. To notify you when a long-running render completes or your subscription state changes. You can opt out at any time in your device settings.

You can revoke any of these permissions at any time in your device's system settings. Some features will be unavailable if you do.

7. Data Retention

  • On your device: recordings, scripts, and project files remain on your device until you delete them in the App or uninstall the App.
  • Convex (backend state): project metadata is retained for up to one (1) year of inactivity, after which it is automatically deleted.
  • Analytics and diagnostics: usage events and error logs are retained in accordance with our analytics provider's standard retention policy. You can request deletion at any time using the process in Section 12.

8. Data Security

We use industry-standard technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit (TLS/HTTPS) and encryption at rest on our backend storage providers. We restrict access to your data to personnel who need it to operate the service.

No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security but we will notify you and the appropriate authorities if we become aware of a personal data breach affecting you.

9. International Data Transfers

Our servers and the third-party services listed above are primarily located in the United States. If you use the App from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States. By using the App you consent to this transfer. Where required (for example, for EU/UK users) we rely on the standard contractual clauses or equivalent safeguards approved by the European Commission to transfer data internationally.

10. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 in some jurisdictions). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has used the App, please contact us at [email protected] and we will delete the associated data.

11. Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the following rights:

  • Access the information we have about you.
  • Correct inaccurate information.
  • Delete your information (see Section 12).
  • Object to or restrict certain processing.
  • Portability — receive a copy of your data in a portable format.
  • Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.
  • Lodge a complaint with a data protection authority.

To exercise any of these rights, use the Request data deletion button in Settings (see Section 12) — this opens a pre-filled email that includes your anonymous device identifier, which we need in order to locate your data. We will respond within 30 days.

11.1 California residents (CCPA / CPRA)

California residents have the right to know what categories of personal information we collect, to request deletion, to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information, and to non-discrimination for exercising these rights. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. To exercise California rights, email [email protected].

11.2 EU / UK residents (GDPR / UK GDPR)

Our lawful bases for processing are: (a) performance of a contract — to provide the App; (b) legitimate interests — to maintain security, diagnose errors, and analyze aggregate usage; and (c) consent — for optional push notifications and any future marketing. You have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

12. Deleting Your Data

You can request deletion of all server-side data associated with your anonymous device identifier at any time. Because we have no way to identify you other than that identifier, deletion requests must include it.

Open the App and tap Settings → Request data deletion. This opens your mail app with an email pre-addressed to [email protected] — your device identifier is already filled in for you. Tap send. We will process your request and delete server-side data associated with that identifier within 30 days.

Local data on your device (recorded videos, exported files, project drafts) is under your control — we have no copy of it on our servers. To delete local data, uninstall the App, which removes everything stored on your device.

Backend records also auto-delete after the retention period in Section 7.

13. Do Not Track

Some browsers and devices send a "Do Not Track" signal. Because we do not track you across apps or websites, we do not change our behavior in response to DNT signals — there is nothing to opt out of.

14. Third-Party Links and Sharing

The App lets you share videos you create to third-party platforms such as TikTok, Instagram, YouTube Shorts, Facebook, X, and any other destination available through your device's system share sheet. Once you share content to a third-party platform it is governed by that platform's own terms and privacy policy. We do not control and are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties. We encourage you to read their privacy policies before sharing.

15. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The current version is dated May 20, 2026 at the top of this page. For material changes we will provide notice in the App or by other reasonable means before the change takes effect. Your continued use of the App after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
